Biostatistician joins Population Health faculty

Medical Center leadership is proud to announce the following addition to its faculty and leadership staff.

Yunxi Zhang, Ph.D.

Dr. Yunxi Zhang has joined the Medical Center faculty as an instructor in data science in the John D. Bower School of Population Health.

After receiving her B.S. in mathematics and applied mathematics from Shanghai Maritime University, China, in 2011, Zhang earned her M.S. in statistics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2013 and her Ph.D. in biostatistics at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) School of Public Health in 2018. She was a graduate research assistant at UTHealth from 2014-18.

The author or coauthor of five articles in peer-reviewed publications and three papers presented at scientific meetings internationally, Zhang is an active member of the American Statistical Association and the International Chinese Statistical Association.
